![]() ![]() On texas you have to figure more stuff out yourself, so it helps to have experience from a program like madcow. The madcow template is very straight forward, so you know exaclty what you are doing each workout, therefore it is more suitable for the less experienced. Thats also how Mehdi adviced it over at strongslifts also. I would advice you to do madcow 5x5 first, for as long as you can, then go into texas after your finished. You can do any exercises as you please here, as long as you squat and deadlift The program is based around volume, recovery and intensity day. I would suggest that if your not used to squat 3 times a week, start a little lower than recommended, I got burned out quickly and didnt progress untill I decided to lower the weight.
